XO is a collection of poems. Some of these poems have appeared in Maggot Brain, The Recluse, Touch the Donkey and Prelude. Some of these poems are pieces of art. Eventually, this will be a solo exhibition. The book comes first.
"Cat Tyc’s writing lives in the space where lyric meets interference — where poems glitch, repeat, zoom in, cut away, and reassemble themselves. Her work often engages with media, technology, and performance, not as themes in the abstract, but as lived conditions: ways of seeing, hearing, and being shaped by the world we’re already inside of.
Through bodies, screens, memory, and desire, Cat’s poems are precise and playful, intellectually sharp and emotionally charged. There’s a real attentiveness in her work to how meaning slips, how attention fractures, and how the self is produced through language, images, and systems that don’t always behave the way we want them to.
What I love about Cat’s work is that it doesn’t just say something — it performs its thinking. It invites us to experience poetry as a process unfolding in real time: provisional, unstable, and alive."
